The Chinese smartphone manufacturer has unveiled its flagship phone - the Cool 1 - in India at an event in New Delhi on Wednesday and the company has priced it at a mouthwatering Rs.13,999.

With a default internal storage of 32GB, the Cool 1 Dual is available in both 3GB and 4GB RAM variants. It is powered by a 64 bit 1.8GHz Octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 Processor with 3GB/4GB of RAM. Another 8MP front facing camera of f/2.2 aperture is provided with 80-degree wide-angle lens. The Cool 1 has been launched in India with a price tag of Rs 13,999, and having spent the last few days with the device, here are my first impressions.

To begin with, the Cool1 sports a shiny metallic unibody with chamfered edges and a 5.5-inch Full HD IPS panel up front with a sufficient 450 nits brightness.

Magnitude 7.6 natural disaster hits coast of southern Chile
Chile sits on an arc of volcanoes and fault lines circling the Pacific Ocean known as the "Ring of Fire". A tsunami warning has been issued after a massive natural disaster struck off Chile this afternoon.

LeEco and Coolpad's collaborative smartphone has been finally brought to India. There is however no option to expand the memory using a microSD card. The device is backed by a 4000mAh (4,060mAh typical) battery with fast charging support. There is a Fingerprint scanner on its back side. As for the software, thanks to the LeEco connection, the Coolpad Cool 1 runs the Android 6.0 Marshmallow-based EUI 5.6 OS that you may have seen on the likes of the Le 2 and the Le Max 2. It is a dual sim device with dual standby support.

The phone is going to be available in two colours: silver and gold.
While one variant will be available online through Amazon, another variant will be available through offline channels. Tajuddin added that this was made possible only by launching quality products with the accurate specifications and pricing that current consumers demand.

Coolpad is also expected to announce a big partnership in the India market at the CES 2016 in China, which is likely to take shape in 2017 and will help the company to grow in India. Connectivity options include 4G with VoLTE, Wi-Fi 8802.1111 as/a/b/g/n (2.4/5 GHz), Bluetooth 4.1, GPS, and USB Type-C port. 2017 will be a game changer for Coolpad in India as we plan to capture 4% of market share. The company hasn't confirmed the launch date for offline stores. Here's a closer look at Coolpad's all new budget smartphone.
