Freezing rain expected in Metro area throughout night

As a result the National Weather Service has issued a freezing rain advisory for most of central NY for Tuesday, especially in the morning.

Late afternoon, early evening Tuesday, the wintry mix of weather is expected to arrive; consisting of snow, sleet, freezing rain and rain.

I believe that the immediate Boston area may only have a brief spell of wet snow with a coating or so while a mile or two inland, it mounts up to 2 inches or more.

Freezing rain could leave roads across Metro Detroit slippery for the Monday evening commute, according to the National Weather Service in White Lake Township. North northwest wind around 5 miles per hour becoming west southwest in the afternoon. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 43. Winds W 5-10 miles per hour. Winds E/NW 5-10 miles per hour.

Monday night: A 20 percent chance of rain before 11 p.m.

Sunny, with a high near 41.

Rainfall totals are expected to be around a quarter- to a half-inch. The chance of precipitation is 70 percent.
