Mexico border wall to be finished in 2 yrs - DHS secretary

Gov. Greg Abbott told Donald Trump's new Homeland Security secretary Wednesday that border security should be balanced with Texas' economic interests.

How, exactly, is Trump planning to pay for the estimated $12 billion to $15 billion it'll take to build the wall?

Details concerning the proposed U.S. -Mexico border wall are still scarce (such as who will pay for it and if it will ever be constructed) but the newest revelations from Kelly are interesting, to say the least.

"I'd really like to establish a relationship on this, on the other side".

The DHS secretary gave the interview during a trip to the border - where he explained that input from patrol agents would be critical to building the wall, which will be more than just a physical structure.

"I suspect I have a pretty good idea, but there's nothing like talking to the men and women that get dirty every day doing the nation's work", Kelly added.

He did agree that the release of the executive order came as a "shock" to the public.

The group said that Hoeven was " prematurely championing Trump directives to grant an easement for illegal construction ". For the past several weeks, the Standing Rock tribe has been pressuring protesters to move out of their riverside camps.

House Speaker Paul Ryan said in an interview last week that he didn't rule out Mexico helping finance a wall but said the US would likely "front the money".

'Yes, I think so, ' Kelly said.

"People were treated with dignity and respect", he said.

The president issued an order last month calling for the executive branch to "secure the southern border of the United States through the immediate construction of a physical wall on the southern border, monitored and supported by adequate personnel so as to prevent illegal immigration, drug and human trafficking, and acts of terrorism". "Do you think that's a viable option?" He and his wife were relaxing when he received a call from White House chief of staff Reince Priebus.

'Once he convinced me it was really Reince Priebus, he said would you come up and talk to Mr. Trump, he'd like to talk to you about a position in the administration, ' Kelly said.

"That is dramatically different than what is now in place", said, "and so you would obviously increase the length of time it takes to cross the border".
