On Tuesday, authorities said they found two bodies near Deer Creek in Delphi while searching for the teens: Liberty German and Abigail Williams. He said they are not releasing the girls' cause of deaths yet, citing the ongoing investigation.
He added the bodies were found Tuesday on the edge of the creek about three-quarters of a mile from an abandoned railroad bridge.
The bodies were found at Deer Creek in Carroll County, just east of Delphi.
The bodies were found less than one mile away from the Monon High Bridge, which was the drop-off and pick-up location of the girls by family members.
"I think people are smart enough in our community to draw their own conclusions about what they should feel and what they shouldn't feel", he told Fox59. "And they say the phone is now dead".
