AAA: Gas prices rise 1 cent across MI

The national average was $2.29 on Monday, remaining about where it has been for the past few weeks.

Officials also say the current average gas price in IL is 6.2 cents higher than a month ago, and 32.1 cents higher than a year ago.

"Gas prices are falling now, but fundamentals are pointing higher", said Mark Jenkins, spokesman, AAA-The Auto Club Group.

The Florida average was $2.262, down from $2.274 a week ago.

But, experts warn that the decline won't last. This compares with the national average, which has fallen 0.3 cents in the last week to $2.29.

AAA found self-serve, regular selling for as low as $2.05 per gallon and as high as $2.39.

He predicted gas prices are likely to head back up in time for Memorial Day and the summer driving season.

Gas prices rose in just 18 states over the past week.
