Free Cone Day at Ben & Jerry's

Posted April 05, 2017

Free Cone Day will be held from 12 8 p.m.

All day, Ben & Jerry's in the Barracks Road Shopping Center will be giving out free ice cream. This year, the celebratory day will be held on Tuesday, April 4.

By the early nineties, every scoop shop in the United States joined the efforts to pass out free cones on a single day in May.

A lot of ice cream is up for grabs.

Three new flavors of ice cream were announced by the company this year too, and as always they look delicious. The tradition that started in 1979 has grown to an worldwide holiday where the company will scoop out more than 1 million free cones.

Noah Syndergaard has strong start, but Mets' rotation can't afford anymore setbacks
Syndergaard is now slated to take the mound again on Saturday, in the Mets' fifth game of the season, against the Marlins. Julio Teheran started for the Braves and pitched six scoreless innings and had six strikeouts.

While the policy is to only receive one free scoop at a time, Ben & Jerry's encourages its fans to fall back in line for another scoop if one scoop is not enough.

Don't worry if you're having trouble deciding, though: Ben & Jerry's has created a helpful (and very scientific) quiz that will assist you in making the best possible decision based on your personality type.

Then again, I have a wife who isn't working today and if she doesn't stop at a location and get me a Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough cone I'm going to be pretty angry. The flavor combines burnt caramel ice cream, almonds, fudge flakes and a bourbon caramel swirl to make an enticing pint. It's Ben & Jerry's free cone day.
