Styles, who is on hiatus from One Direction, signed a solo deal with Columbia Records in June and has seemingly been working hard on his solo album since.

It's finally the moment One Direction fans have all been waiting for: Harry Styles' first solo single has arrived.

He said: "I think I snore and also I quite like routine, so I don't know if I'm incredibly spontaneous".

For what it's worth, it seems like I may be taking this a little more personally than any of the 1D guys - at least if Niall and Liam's congratulatory tweets are anything to go by. It's the band, it's one thing. "I think it's interesting to get to see everyone kind of explore their own tastes as well", the singer said.

With the arrival of the second One Direction baby last month, Harry Styles has admitted that he would be "honoured" to be the godfather of his bandmate Liam Payne's son.

"I played it to them the first time and there's one song on the album where there's a bit with a vocal effect on it", Styles reportedly said of sharing the track with his family.

The track certainly poses the biggest threat to Ed Sheeran's singles chart dominance, with Shape Of You shaping up for a 13th consecutive week at the top when today's chart's are officially revealed.

"I haven't dated in a long time really because I went away to do the movie, then did the album", he told Radio 1. And really, do we blame them?

"[My mum] cried a couple of times which was good, I think that was good".
