Samsung to start testing Galaxy X prototype with dual screen

The company has planned to release the smartphone on April 21st, but before the launch, the South Korean giant has clarified that the key features of the Bixby assistant i.e.

Tech Crunch reported that the Samsung Galaxy S8 will delay its English version (meant for the western users) of Bixby voice assistant.

Bixby is facing some stiff competition from other AI features like Amazon's Alexa, Apple's Siri, Google Assistant and Microsoft's Cortana.

Yes, the company says that key features of Bixby which they demonstrated at the launch like visual search, ability to remind you of something, etc. will work during the global launch. Hopefully Samsung will be able to get Bixby Voice working quickly and that we won't be waiting until the end of spring for it to arrive.

"All Bixby functionality, bar the Voice Function, will be available to United Kingdom customers at launch". So new S8 owners will be able to use Bixby's augmented reality camera features, Bixby Vision as it's called, and access the "Home" panel, which is basically a pane of widgets. The new Samsung flagships even have a dedicated button to summon Bixby.

When the Galaxy S8 was announced, Samsung had warned Bixby wouldn't support all languages immediately, but no reason why was provided.

KitGuru Says: Samsung only acquired the company behind the Bixby AI past year, so it's not too surprising that a little more work is needed in some areas.
