Allen returning to Duke for senior season

Jacksonville native Grayson Allen, an All-American at Duke as a sophomore, will return for his senior season and bypass the NBA Draft the school announced on twitter this afternoon.

Allen played sparingly as a freshman, scoring just 4.4 points, although he led a Blue Devils comeback in the National Championship Game win over Wisconsin.

He also dealt with disciplinary issues when he was suspended for multiple incidents of tripping opponents on the court.

Allen averaged 14.5 points, good for third on the Blue Devils, as well as a team-best 3.5 assists. Had he left Duke after his sophomore year, during which he averaged 21.6 points, Allen would have likely been selected in t.
