A new task management app — Microsoft launches To-Do

Posted April 22, 2017

One of the purposes of the app is to help users create to-do lists and reminders, and keep track of tasks with just a single service which comes with nearly the same feature package as Wunderlist.

According to Microsoft's announcement, To-Do starts you off in a screen called "My Day" which offers a list of items that need to get done today.

Microsoft's Alex Simons announced the app update via an official blog post.

For example, if there was something you didn't get done yesterday, but perhaps should have, that could appear as a task suggestion.

More importantly - to Microsoft, at least - is that To-Do has been built to integrate with Microsoft Office. One of them will allow users to automatically sync their Outlook Tasks with To-Do. Granted, this is a minimal app and service from Microsoft but if you are looking for a basic task-based application, To-Do may be the app for you. As of today, it is available for public testing on the web, iOS, Windows 10 and Android devices. Microsoft clarified that the To-Do list application can be used for those with Microsoft accounts and not only those with a Office 365 subscription.

The following week Twickenham is the venue again as the Cleveland Browns host the Vikings at on Sunday, October 29 at 1.30pm. While Week 15 carries a fraction of the depth of other weeks, two big games push the mid-December week into the top three.

"As the only task management app built on an enterprise cloud, To-Do offers the advanced security that our Office 365 customers expect", Artman wrote.

The company notes that Wunderlist users don't have to make the switch to To-Do yet, but they have created an importer if users are interested in migrating. It is said that To-Do keeps you more organized than Wunderlist did.

Microsoft goes on to promise that some of users' favourite Wunderlist features will be included as time goes on - but it's frustrating that basic essentials which made the app so handy, like list-sharing and apps for Android and iOS tablets, are not already available. "Whether you're planning for work or home, To-Do's My Day view and intelligent Suggestions empower you to focus on the most important things you need to achieve, every day", explains Microsoft. This is a feature which (in tandem with To-Do overall) looks to help the user better manage their daily to-dos.

The feature is meant to save users from one of the most common issues handled by IT helpdesk employees: Forgotten passwords. Microsoft says it will incorporate favorite elements of Wunderlist in the coming months.
