Switch is now the fastest-selling system in Nintendo's history

Posted April 23, 2017

After boasting about the Nintendo Switch and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild's strong launches in March, Nintendo has finally offered concrete numbers about just how strong those sales were. With the game being added to the Nintendo Switch library, it will surely give the console its much needed boost, not that there is a dire need for it. That is up from its original forecast of 5 million units- although it is still not particularly special, it does indicate that the Switch is performing better than anyone expected.

Not too shabby, especially considering that the console launched in March rather than the traditional holiday season launch window. Most of the reviews posted for the Nintendo Switch have been positive, though there have been some problems occasionally.

While "Breath of the Wild" has sold more copies than the Nintendo Switch, it does not mean that the console did not sell well. Per SuperData's projections, Switch will shift over 7.2 million consoles in 2017, putting it over halfway toward the Wii U's total install base that took four-plus years to accumulate. Previous pack-in games like Super Mario World on the SNES, Tetris on the Game Boy, and Wii Sports on the Wii by definition only sold to 100 percent of console owners during those systems' crucial launch periods.

Last month, there were estimates that the Nintendo Switch had sold roughly 1.5 million units worldwide. At the same time, a game intended for Nintendo's home-and-mobile game device, Zelda Breath of the Wild, has sold more copies than its partner console.

A new task management app — Microsoft launches To-Do
The feature is meant to save users from one of the most common issues handled by IT helpdesk employees: Forgotten passwords . This is a feature which (in tandem with To-Do overall) looks to help the user better manage their daily to-dos.

According to a Twitter post from Nintendo of America, the Nintendo Switch edition of the popular game will come be released on May 11.

Beyond that, PS4 sold more than Xbox One during the same month. The game company was proud of this achievement as these two items broke sales records in western shores. Do you think Nintendo's newest console will be successful as the Wii had been?

The company also pointed out that March is a "nontraditional month" for a new console release.
