Vinod Khanna, a dashing Bollywood actor turned politician, has died of cancer, a hospital official said. Karan had written, "His screen presence is unparalleled even today...his super star swag is what we grew up on.... RIP #VinodKhanna... thoughts and prayers". The actor was 70-year-old and hospitalized for quite some time.

He made his debut in 1968 with Mann Ka Meet and went on to win numerous awards, including the Filmfare award for best supporting actor for Haath ki Safaai and the Filmfare Lifetime Achievement Award in 1999. He is survived by wife Kavita Khanna and his four children, Rahul Khanna, Akshaye Khanna, Sakshi Khanna and Shraddha Khanna.

But Khanna returned to cinema in the late 1980s, and courted success again with films such as Insaaf and Satyameva Jayate.

Yesterday, Vinod Khanna lost his life to cancer and everything came to a standstill, primarily Bollywood.

At the height of his career, Khanna suddenly took "sanyas" in 1982 to become a disciple of Bhagwan Rajneesh, the founder of Osho, and lived in Pune for five years.

We wonder if this tweet is directed towards Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan and Sanjay Dutt with who he's sharen spaces in films like Dilwale, Dabangg and Ek Aur Ek Gyarah.
