President Trump may attend US Women's Open at his NJ golf course

Posted July 16, 2017

Protesters are planning to converge on the tournament this weekend because it's being held at Trump National, the president's private golf club in Bedminster, New Jersey.

The american Federation of golf (USGA), organiser of the third Grand Slam tournament of the year on the circuit, female, pointed out that Trump is the first president in business to attend the event.

Play was suspended due to darkness with 39 of 156 golfers unable to complete their rounds.

That would not only add to the degree of difficulty of an already daunting task, but it would turn this into the most memorable week of her golfing life and become nearly impossible to top - regardless of where she takes her promising career.

Feng, though, was ready.

While the president waved at, pointed to, and fist-pumped his supporters as he took his place in his glass-enclosed viewing area beside the 15th green and 16th tee, the golfers trying to win the most prestigious event on the women's schedule gamely played on in the second round, though they were clearly the supporting cast to Trump's theatrics. "When somebody in your group is playing good, I think it just kind of sets a tone for the day". I had my rain suit and rain glove and umbrella, everything there.

For the players' part, the focus is on the game. That's what I did and I did well. "I really didn't pay attention to the weather and just concentrated on every shot". Two Americans, Nelly Korda and 15-year old amateur Rachel Heck are at 3 under par through 13 holes. "It did really play differently".

Ryu, victor of this year's ANA Inspiration Major, birdied three of her last five holes for a 68, while New Zealander Ko, 20, slipped from six under with two late bogeys in her 68 to also share third. I really wanted to make birdie on that hole. "We're simply not going to cross that line into politics", Davis said at a May 24 preview day for the tournament.

A Homeland Security Department spokesman told The Washington Post this week that it had approved a request from the U.S. The initial rejection and denial of an appeal was particularly heartbreaking for the team.

Jeongeun6 Lee, who has a victory and 10 top-10 finishes this season on the KLPGA Tour, shared second after posting a second straight 69.

"I love playing in front of a bunch of people", said Thompson, who is 1-under par and trails leader Shanshan Feng by seven shots.

Another South Korean, Seon Woo Bae, is in fifth place on five-under with Spaniard Carlota Ciganda tied in sixth place on four-under with three players.

"If the President of the United States decides to attend the U.S. Women's Open championship, we welcome him", the USGA said.

Ko bogeyed the last after hitting a wedge from the fringe well past the hole, rather than putting through the frog's hair.

Feng - victor of the 2012 PGA Championship - opened with a 66 as Thursday's first round was suspended due to darkness.
