Jay Cutler Rumors: Dolphins 'Making Ground' on Contract Talks with Retired QB

Posted August 07, 2017

"Main thing holding Cutler back right now is family approval", Heitner tweets.

That season, Cutler threw for 21 touchdowns and posted a quarterback rating of 92.3 which was a career high, but the most important stat was that Cutler only threw 11 interceptions that season. It's odd that the Miami Dolphins haven't announced anything or that his injury hasn't been full diagnosed yet.

That now appears to have been incorrect: Dolphins head coach Adam Gase shot down that talk, describing reports of Cutler's imminent signing as "premature" and said that, while Cutler did express interest in potentially joining the Dolphins, the talks were preliminary.

Trump to law enforcement: 'Don't be too nice'
Attorney Jeff Sessions visited LI to make similar commitments just weeks after a quadruple murder in a Central Islip park. And we're not gonna do it, because of you", he told the law enforcement in the audience. "We're changing those laws".

Cutler called time on his career with the Chicago Bears at the end of last season and he was set to join the commentary ranks full-time with Fox Sports until the call came from Miami. That move suggested that both Cutler and Fox were open to the possibility of Cutler returning to the National Football League at some point this season without causing a major shakeup in game assignments for Fox.

Cutler's contract presents a pretty interesting situation for the Dolphins as well. And Gase did hint on Friday that backup Matt Moore is "our quarterback" at the current time. Cutler will have to rapidly develop some chemistry and timing with his new receivers. "So I don't think he looked at our situation like, 'oh this is going to happen'". Fox handed Cutler an analyst position on the network's No. 2 broadcast team, despite his lack of TV experience, and there's certainly no guarantee he'd find a comparable job down the road. The Dolphins can't help but feel like they have some egg on their face for their handling of Tannehill's ACL injury back in December.

Offensive coordinator Clyde Christensen said Thursday he has confidence in Moore, but Cutler should provide a healthy competition. Instead, if Cutler is going to return, he wants to make sure the abrupt change of lifestyle is monetarily worthwhile, sources said.
