He went from potentially becoming the franchise quarterback of the Houston Texans after signing a four-year, $72 million to falling out of favor with the organization, which resulted in him being traded to the Cleveland Browns earlier this offseason.
After one very disappointing season with the Houston Texans a year ago, Osweiler was traded to the Cleveland Browns in clear salary dump back in March. The Browns still will owe Osweiler approximately $15.225 million. On Saturday, Elway said the Broncos would welcome Osweiler back "with open arms".

Sheriff David Clarke Has Resigned
In June, Clarke was supposedly being considered for the Assistant Secretary Position at the Department of Homeland Security. He's been a vocal supporter of President Donald Trump and critic of Black Lives Matter .
The rest is history: Manning (and the Broncos' defense) lead the team to a Super Bowl victory with Osweiler on the bench. We have confidence in that, and feel like if something were to happen that Brock has the experience. The Browns did not have any long-term plans for him but gave him a chance to compete for a starting job this summer.
Both nationally and locally, football followers are questioning Elway's wisdom in bringing back Osweiler. It would be one of the biggest upsets of the season if Siemian, who was voted as one of the captains last season, is not selected again.
During his seven starts for the Broncos in 2015, Osweiler went 5-2 in relief of Peyton Manning. "We've got chemistry (as a quarterback-receiver)". "You never know. We're going to carry him right now".
The embattled 26-year-old quarterback passed his physical on Monday morning and will be on the practice field with the rest of the team on Monday afternoon.
