Floyd Mayweather vs. Conor McGregor Gate Reportedly Falls Short of Record

McGregor just made his professional boxing debut at "The Money Fight", suffering a tenth round TKO loss to Floyd Mayweather. That fight, put together by Mayweather Promotions rival Golden Boy Promotions (run by former champion Oscar De La Hoya), has been sold out for some time, though many great seats for Alvarez-GGG are available on the secondary market. Another factor was the unavoidable fact that Mayweather is 40 years old, and McGregor had never boxed as a professional, despite his success in the UFC world. After all, McGregor had expressed an interest in fighting the undefeated lightweight, in his native Russian Federation.

He said the UFC pushed the narrative of McGregor's "obsession" with a rematch after their first fight, when, in reality, any fighter who loses wants an immediate rematch.

At some point, surely the day will come when longtime MMA fans no longer have this nearly Pavlovian response to hearing that music at the end of a fight.

Medical staff said Mitchell was not under the influence of alcohol and a toxicology screen is pending, the release said. The annual Burning Man Festival takes place in the Black Rock Desert in Nevada's Pershing County.

"I wouldn't say that". It's just a mad scene. The two fights against Diaz were probably the most exciting camps I've been a part of and to do that again would be unbelievable. To do that again would be unbelievable. "The fans would like that over everything else".

Both of the SBG man's lead trainers (Owen Roddy and John Kavanagh) have already stated that they would like to see McGregor settling his score with Nate Diaz in a trilogy fight next. The UFC expressed interest in booking him to a fight in July, but the two sides were unable to reach a deal. The latter is a reportedly a pretty big name in the 140 million plus person nation. Maybe that bout does happen next instead.

Tony Ferguson and Kevin Lee will battle it out for that strap at UFC 216 in Las Vegas on October 7. One of those guys will likely need to score a ridiculously, impressive win, in order to jump past Diaz in the queue.
