A subsidiary Volvo introduced its first auto

As you can see, it has a busy agenda up ahead and it also needs to figure out whether it will sell its cars only with a subscription plan or it will also allow people to actually purchase the models. That gives the vehicle the record for longest fully electric range amongst available hybrid cars.

Polestar took the wraps off its first production model only a few days ago and already the coupe has been transformed into a purely hypothetical shooting brake. The move comes following Volvo's announcement this summer that from 2019, every vehicle in their lineup will have an electric motor.

Thomas Ingenlath, Chief Executive Officer of Polestar, said: "Polestar 1 is the first auto to carry the Polestar on the bonnet". The company is so serious about the new model and possibly other BEV models that it is building a brand new manufacturing facility next to the main factory in Stuttgart. Now it makes the 362 BHP Polestar variants of the S60 and V60 as well as performance upgrades for existing Volvo cars.

Also helping the Polestar 1 excel on twisty roads, the Öhlins Continuously Controlled Electronic Suspension system fits an electronic valve to each Öhlins shock absorber, monitoring driver inputs and road conditions and making adjustments within two milliseconds to provide precisely tailored suspension performance.

40 killed in Mogadishu bomb blast
The blast near Zobe, a busy road intersection, may have been a suicide bomber, a police official told VOA. A truck loaded with explosives went off at the entrance of a hotel, according to security sources.

A coupe design which had, back in the mists of time, been slated for Volvo production, before Polestar was bequeathed the shape to create its new 592bhp hybrid-drive debut.

Polestar 2 will start production later in 2019 and will be the first battery-electric vehicle (BEV) from the Volvo Car Group.

The launch of the first Polestar marks the latest step in a global shift towards electric vehicles which, led by China, is quickly gathering pace. Plans call for construction to be completed by mid-2018, with Polestar 1 production to follow in mid-2019. It will be a mid-sized, battery-electric vehicle, competing with Tesla's Model 3.

Polestar 1 order books are open now, for those that want to reserve a Polestar future right away. The Polestar 1 will be acquired via zero-deposit deal over two or three years, with everything incorporated into one monthly payment.
