Denton apartments collapse during party

University of Nort Texas junior Abiola Busari hosted a homecoming party in this multi-story student apartment building.

"A vast choice of amenities and its friendly staff create a worry-free environment that allows residents to focus on the most important thing - being a successful college student", according to the complex website. Police say there were no serious injuries and no one needed to go to the hospital.

The part at the University of North Texas on Saturday night ended with a flood of calls into 9-1-1 reporting that the roof had collapsed. At least six people had injuries, Denton police said, and no one had to be transported by ambulance.

Carley Carroll is a UNT sophomore who lives on the second floor directly below the unit that collapsed. "That's life threatening. If we were in our living room, we wouldn't have made it out because by what we've seen, it's just completely gone".

The videos capture the moment the floor caved in and the group of dancing and jumping revelers crashed from the third floor into the apartment below.

Police told FOX 4 they believe there was 100 people at the party.

Why the flu vaccine was not very effective in 2016
That sugar makes its hard for our antibodies to attach to the virus and kill it, and protect the virus from destruction. Scientists are trying various approaches to better match vaccines to multiple viral strains.

"In the process of making alternate housing arrangements for those students, a local university offered help as well to provide alternate arrangements".

"They have parties quite a bit, nearly every weekend", Carley Carroll told NewsFix.

"We talked with the property owner - the fire marshal met with one of their building contractors yesterday".

The complex is helping those affected. Carroll says that's typical; she's called the cops on the party-goers before.

It happened just before 2:00 a.m.at The Ridge at North Texas apartments located near Highway 288.
