Local news affiliate NBC4 reported Wednesday that the estate, located on a vineyard outside of Los Angeles and across the 405 freeway from the Getty Museum, was "burning down". As of 7:45 AM PT, mandatory evacuations were in place for the entire area within the following: south of Mulholland Drive, east of the 405 Freeway, north of Sunset Boulevard and west of Roscomare Road.

The newspaper said evacuations have been ordered in the Sullivan and Mandeville canyon area.

Mandatory evacuation orders were issued for homes on Moraga Drive, Linda Flora Drive and Casiano Road down to Bellagio Road.

The Skirball fire was reported at 4:50 a.m. and was more than an acre when the first units arrived.

"This fire is very unsafe and spreading rapidly, but we'll continue to attack it with all we've got", Brown said, according to the Los Angeles Times. Two firefighting helicopters have been assigned. The Skirball Fire encompasses parts of Bel Air, Holmby Hills, and Brentwood, and is affecting the surrounding food-friendly neighborhoods, including Westwood.

All Black Sevens beaten in Dubai final
Smith was named player of the final for his hard-working efforts but he was quick to pass the praise on to his teammates. The Pacific Islanders got the conversion and won the restart, but knocked on to thwart their chances of Dubai glory.

Amid the charred landscape of Little Tujunga Canyon Road in Sylmar on Wednesday stood the remains of Rancho Padilla and the carcasses of almost 30 horses who died in the fast-moving Creek fire.

An unknown number of homes were destroyed by the blaze, according to LAFD.

It was accompanied by Santa Ana winds of 25 miles per hour, which have helped spur several devastating wildfires across Southern California this week. The 405 Freeway in Bentwood has been closed as crews try to tend to the blaze. The closure led to massive congestion on many streets in the San Fernando Valley and in West Los Angeles. Footage shot from inside a vehicle on the 405 showed the fire rolling down a hillside, as if hell itself had appeared in Southern California.

The Skirball Center shuttered and said it would remain closed until further notice.
