Police say four people, including the pastor, were stabbed during a church service at a home in Corpus Christi Wednesday.

Some fearless parishioners jumped into action to try to subdue the 30-year-old suspect.

A church service inside a Texas home turned bloody on Wednesday when one of the parishioners suddenly lunged at a pastor and began stabbing him and others while singing in prayer. Police said the other two victims suffered puncture wounds - one to his hand and the other to his arm - while trying to get the suspect away from the pastor.

Witness told police it was a regular service and then chaos erupted. Investigators have said that attack appeared to stem from a domestic dispute.

"I don't know what religion they are or anything, but I know they do a lot of singing there's a lot of noises coming from the house they've been meeting here pretty regularly", said Anthony Fonseca, neighbor.

Hooper said Thursday that a 61-year-old man has died of his injuries, while the church's 54-year-old pastor is hospitalized in serious condition.

He said it's not clear what led to the attack and that the suspect faces aggravated assault charges.
