Rams offered a 1st round pick for Beckham

A rumor was floated on Monday that the Los Angeles Rams contacted the New York Giants about possibly trading for Odell Beckham Jr.

As bothersome as Norman can be at times, he's not in the same league as his nemesis, Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr., who can cause headaches behind the scenes like nobody else in the NFL. ESPN's Adam Schefter said the Giants are listening to offers for the receiver during an appearance on "Golic and Wingo" Tuesday morning.

While New York nearly surely won't release Beckham, Mara said a "possibility" exists that OBJ could play out his rookie deal without a new contract.

"We can't talk about anybody that's under contract with any other team, but I think, if there's one thing you can appreciate about what we've done this offseason, there's no trade we wouldn't explore or look into if we feel like it can upgrade us as a team", McVay said.

Shurmur is expecting Beckham to get to work just as soon as everyone else on the Giants roster. But after that, the Giants would say a Beckham trade "probably won't happen. I think it's important, especially in the player-coach relationship, to get to know him". "Again, when you're coming off a season when you're 3-13 and played as poorly as we played, I wouldn't say that anyone is untouchable".

Ireland's World Cup dream dies in last-over defeat
The ICC cut the number of teams competing from 14 at the last tournament to just 10 for next summer's event in England and Wales. In reply, openers Mohammad Shahzad and Gulbadin Naib gave their team a good start with an 86-run stand for the first wicket.

Is the Giants' relationship with one of the sport's uniquely talented players beyond fix? "That's why it's important as players and coaches, anybody that's working together, that you get a chance to visit and get to know one another". Who knows how that video appeared?

Beckham was limited to four games last season because of ankle injuries. I felt like I got to know him a little better.

Per Ralph Vacchiano of SNY.tv, Gettleman said the Giants need to focus on "eliminating internal and external distractions" but added he was "not going there" when asked if he wanted Beckham to remain on the team.

The star wide receiver has been in the news for all the wrong reasons lately. It's unclear what the Giants would be looking for in return.
