The boy was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Police have not said what prompted the teen to shoot his brother.

Police said after investigators questioned the 13-year-old, they determined the shooting appeared to be a "premeditated act" of murder.

The family friend did not immediately realize the boy had been shot when she called authorities to report the injury, according to a recording of the call released Tuesday by the Streetsboro Police Department.
