While on the phone with Baleigh, the teen's mother heard the teen being "brutally attacked" in their home, said Shearer.

The mother called a neighbor who called 911.

The details behind French's arrest have not been released.

Baleigh Bagshaw (left) was found dead inside her Utah home on Monday. An arrest warrant charging him with three counts of unlawful sexual activity with a minor was issued Tuesday; he has not yet been charged in Bagshaw's death. "Our hearts and thoughts are with her".

Co-worker Gwendolyn Robinson described the teenager as "very sweet", adding: 'She worked very hard. "She had gotten the mail, and she was telling me about what came in the mail, and then all of a sudden she started screaming".

"He'd had a previous sexual relationship with Baleigh, he'd also lived in the home with [her] for some time", Sgt. Shearer said. He'd moved in with the family in February 2017, when Bagshaw was 14 years old and he was 23 years old. This evidence helped police identify 24-year-old Shaun French as a person of interest in Baleigh Bagshaw's murder.
