The fitness features are largely quality of life improvements for those who like to exercise while wearing their Apple Watch. Especially with podcasts also supported by watchOS 5.

Apple has added competition to the watch's activity-sharing feature to make it even more social.

One of the most eye-catching watchOS 5 features is Walkie-Talkie, which lets Apple Watch users communicate to one another at the tap of the wrist.

Apple CEO Tim Cook said on stage that Apple Watch sales grew 60% in 2017. Users can leverage the audio playback support to play audiobooks, favourite playlists and guided meditations on their Apple Watch while on the go. And the Siri watch face will display notifications from third-party apps, not just the watch's built-in apps.

At WWDC 2018 today, Apple revealed a slew of new features arriving with the next major Apple Watch software update, watchOS 5.

Belgium suffer Kompany blow in draw with Portugal
His fresh performance and leadership means it is essential for us to give him time to make a good decision". Laurent Ciman will be with the Belgium squad and is on stand-by should Kompany fail to recover in time .

The Apple Watch update also add yoga and hiking to the 12 other dedicated workout types. Better still, these can come through third party apps, that implement Apple's new APIs. So if you spent $17,000, you might wanna consider upgrading right about now if you are planning to enjoy the new features announced by Apple.

With watchOS 5.0, the Apple Watch will also be able to more intelligently detect the beginning and end of workout sessions, automatically logging data if you've hurried out the door and forgot to hit start, while automatically turning off the tracking when it detects that motion has reduced. It's now possible to start a fitness competition with other Apple Watch owners, and workout detection automatically determines when various activities start. Still, it is worth noting that Apple is not offering a full-featured browser experience.

Furthermore, Apple also released a new watch face to celebrate LGBTQ Pride month, which users can now download from the Face Gallery in the Apple Watch app.

To keep wearers more connected, watchOS 5 adds a walkie-talkie mode. Apple is partnering with a handful of universities, including Duke, Johns Hopkins and Temple University, to roll out that integration this fall. The watch face is simple, showcasing the pride rainbow with the time.
