Arsenal's Petr Cech backed to keep No. 1 spot by Unai Emery

The new style puts added pressure on the goalkeeper, with Petr Cech struggling at times to put the ball in play against Man City - and almost scoring an embarrassing own goal in the first half.

The 36-year-old appeared to struggle with Emery's new approach of playing the ball out from defence in Sunday's season opener, nearly scoring an own goal in the 2-0 defeat as he looked uncomfortable in possession.

Cech was selected to face City on Sunday ahead of new Arsenal signing Bernd Leno, who joined the Gunners from Leverkusen during the off-season.

Many Arsenal fans are still more optimistic this season, however, with Emery renowned for his tactical nouse, unlike the recently departed Arsene Wenger, who seemed to give his players free reign to do as they wished.

"I am very happy with his performance", Emery said of Cech.

Hazard appeared to let the game slip over his future when he changed his display picture on Twitter to a shot of him as captain in a pre-season match against Lyon.

He ended his tweet by wishing "Peace to ALL Americans!" A similar far-right rally is scheduled for Sunday outside the White House. Since becoming mayor, Walker said, she hasn't heard from any Trump administration officials about the violence last August.

"I want to know well the players, I want to know well the man, and then when my idea will be clear, I will make a final decision". Also, with Bernd Leno [it's the same].

The jokes ensued way past the original post with many being sympathetic to the Arsenal goalkeeper, quick to highlight that Cech has won more Champions League trophies that Bayer Leverkusen itself.

Experienced Swiss worldwide Lichtsteiner is a right-back by trade and Emery is hopeful Monreal will be fit to face Chelsea after returning to training this week.

"We are continuing this work and against Chelsea we are going to analyse the opposition".

"We are training for each situation". Maurizio Sarri's Chelsea have got three points on the board already thanks to their 3-0 win over Huddersfield while Arsenal are point-less following defeat to Manchester City. Goals from Raheem Sterling and Bernardo Silva ruined Emery's welcome party as his first game as head coach ended with a loss. "The two options we have now are Nacho Monreal and Lichtsteiner to continue in this position".
