Corrections officials at Phoenix will assess Cosby's needs to determine where he'll serve the bulk of his state prison sentence.

On Sept. 25, he was sentenced to 3 to 10 years in prison, and 6ABC reported that he spent his first night imprisoned at SCI Phoenix, a new prison located near Philadelphia.

O.J. Simpson, the former National Football League player, said he is concerned that Bill Cosby will be attacked in prison, saying that the elderly Cosby should serve time under house arrest.

One of the greatest and most powerful comedians of the last several generations was declared a "sexually violent predator" by Montgomery County Judge Steven O'Neill before he was sentenced to prison for the 2004 sexual assault on Constand. As part of the overall evaluation, evaluators will decide if Cosby should be in the general population or in protective custody.

The 81-year-old Cosby's lawyers gave glimpses of their expected appeal as his April retrial crashed toward a conviction.

The biggest difference from the first trial - which ended in a mistrial - was O'Neill's decision to let jurors hear from five other women who say Cosby had also drugged and violated them.

As Cosby began adjusting to life behind bars, his family and publicists vowed he'll appeal his conviction on three felony sexual assault counts after the first celebrity trial of the #MeToo era.

Trump blasts Democrats, judge's accuser, as GOP rallies behind Kavanaugh
Democrats have seized on both accusations as reason to delay the confirmation vote for more hearings and a full FBI investigation. Mr Kavanaugh said Dr Ford's friend does not remember being at a party with him, nor has anyone corroborated the accuser's story .

Inmates are offered treatment, educational, vocational and recreational programs.

A member of the prosecution team from Cosby's trials says Constand, the comedian's chief accuser, told her she was happy with his sentence.

Though his three charges each carry a maximum possible sentence of 10 years, O'Neill said they were merged into one because they're from the same incident. As a Temple University employee, she looked up to Cosby, a Temple trustee, as a mentor and friend.

Really dude? Really? You're comparing serial rapist Bill Cosby to Jesus H. Christ?

Appearing alongside her attorney, Gloria Allred, Lise-Lotte Lublin said: "It felt like consequences have been imposed, even if he doesn't want to do it, he has to do it". "He robbed me of my health and vitality, my open nature and my trust in myself and others", she wrote in the impact statement.

Sadly, the collective social media reaction to the implosion of the noted philanthropist and one-time hero known as "Heathcliff Huxtable" is shaping up as a tale of two timelines: with a number of male supporters claiming he was set up and women decrying the lack of belief in female victims of sexual abuse.
