Valve hasn't given out the specifications of the device, but it said that it will be "designed to deliver a high fidelity, next generation VR experience", according to Polygon. The VR headset will utilize StreamVR tracking and built on the OpenVR platform.

This is not the first time that the Korean company entered the virtual reality market.

The game developer Valve confirmed to publication Road To VR that it will be using the SteamVR tracking technology to create a head mounted VR device for LG.

Steelers tag RB Bell
Under the terms of the tag, Bell will only be able to negotiate with the Steelers and can not sign an offer with another team. According to reports, the Steelers could finalize a long-term agreement with Brown during the NFL Scouting Combine this week.

Neither HTC nor Valve have announced numbers for their HTC Vive headset. It's first attempt was the 360 VR headset from previous year which only worked for its flagship smartphone, the LG G5. SteamVR, formerly known as Lighthouse is a royalty free Valve position tracking technology, which now runs on HTC Vive and is expected to run on LG's new VR headset as well. That means it could implement all sorts of forward-thinking technologies, like inside-out tracking, foveated rendering, and improved resolution and field of view, a little like Qualcomm's upcoming mobile VR headset.

Valve announced LG's prototype, and the fact it'd be coming to San Francisco based Games Developer Conference (GDC) this week in a press release.
